Ton Duc Thang University Organizes the Second University-Wide Meeting for the academic year 2024-2025
On April 25, 2025, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) organized the second university-wide meeting for the academic year 2024–2025 at its Bao Loc campus, located in Bao Loc City, Lam Dong Province.
The meeting welcomed Dr. Vu Anh Duc – Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the University Council – as a guest. The event was chaired by Dr. Tran Trong Dao – President of TDTU – along with members of the University’s Presidential Board and the leaders from various Departments, Faculties, Centers, and affiliated units of TDTU.
This is a regular activity of the University aimed at evaluating the effectiveness of tasks and operations throughout the academic year, setting goals, and planning for each semester, the entire academic year, and the upcoming years.
During the meeting, a report was presented to monitor and evaluate the implementation of the President’s conclusions made at the first university-wide meeting for the academic year 2024–2025, held on December 27, 2024. The report detailed the results, progress, and performance assessments of the units assigned to lead the implementation of various tasks.

Next, presentations from various units on several important reports centered around the main theme of “Digital transformation in all activities” were conducted, including:
(i) Improvements in administrative procedures, coordination processes for digitalization within the internal document system, and the application of digital technology in the internal document approval process;
(ii) Plans for implementing digital competency training for students in accordance with Circular No. 02/2025/TT-BGDDT issued by the Ministry of Education and Training;
(iii) Strengthening communication efforts on digital platforms, the role of units in coordinating communication activities, and enhancing the visibility of Faculties and the University;
(iv) Necessary solutions to improve the effectiveness of student advising and support in their learning and training (including the analysis of input-output correlations to determine the converted admission scores across different admission methods);
(v) Directions for boosting scientific and technological activities in line with Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW by the Politburo, dated December 22, 2024, along with reports on several other areas of activity.
The meeting also discussed several other tasks and activities of the University, such as key considerations in the management of human resources; training and capacity building for staff; appropriate solutions to ensure the University’s stability and development; the organization of major events such as international conferences and the Graduation Ceremony (scheduled for May 2025); efforts in student admission, communication, and innovation to improve effectiveness; the roadmap for launching new doctoral programs; the development of science and technology, international cooperation; accreditation of academic programs; and the achievement of the University’s set goals.
Leaders of the University and heads of participating units contributed many opinions, engaged in discussions, and provided input to refine and improve the reports presented at the meeting.
During discussions and feedback on the draft proposal for establishing the Center for Innovation and Technology Transfer at TDTU, in addition to contributions from other participants, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Do Phan Thuan – Lecturer at the Faculty of Information Technology, TDTU – shared several directions and aspirations regarding future AI training activities for TDTU lecturers and students. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Do Phan Thuan has extensive experience, having led the Vietnamese team to participate in the International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (IOAI) 2024 in Bulgaria, where they achieved excellent results with one silver medal, one bronze medal, and ranked sixth overall. He has also guided student teams representing Vietnam in the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) and the Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad (APIO) in programming competitions.
After leading the meeting through the presentations and discussions according to the agenda, the President concluded the session by providing directives on orientations, assigning tasks to key units and functional departments, and offering suggested solutions for the organization and implementation of the aforementioned conclusions and directives.

Attending the meeting, after listening to the concluding remarks from the Presidential Board, Dr. Vu Anh Duc – Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the University Council – delivered a speech on behalf of the University Council. In his remarks, the Chairman praised the briefing meeting for being effectively and successfully organized. He also expressed his agreement with the President’s evaluation, noting that the preparation of materials by the units for the meeting met the required standards and that the units demonstrated thorough preparation and a strong sense of responsibility regarding the tasks assigned to them.
In particular, the Chairman highly appreciated the University Executive Board’s thorough preparation and timely implementation of the contents approved by the University Council and the Party Committee. He also praised the University’s strong determination in advancing the digital transformation process, as well as the commitment of the University’s Presidential Board in leading the development and establishment of the Center for Innovation and Technology Transfer in the near future.
