Strengthening Strategic Cooperation between Ton Duc Thang University and La Trobe University, Australia

Within the framework of the official working trip to Australia, the delegation from Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) conducted an effective visit and working session at La Trobe University – one of Australia’s prestigious universities located in Melbourne city. This visit marked an important milestone in continuing and developing the strategic cooperation between the two universities.

At the working session, representatives from both institutions reviewed and evaluated the cooperation programs implemented over recent periods. In particular, joint training programs under the 2+2 and 3+1 articulation models in the fields of Computer Science, Construction Engineering, and International Business have recorded many positive outcomes. TDTU students transferring to La Trobe were highly appreciated for their solid foundational knowledge, academic integration ability, and proactive learning attitude.

Additionally, the lecturer and student exchange programs between the two universities have been effectively implemented, creating opportunities for mutual learning, enhancing teaching and research capacity, and deepening mutual understanding of culture and education between Vietnam and Australia. The two universities have also jointly engaged in several international research projects, which have yielded promising initial results and laid the groundwork for broader research collaboration in the future.

Based on the achievements attained, both institutions agreed to continue promoting and expanding cooperation in many new strategic areas. The key focuses include:

  • Enhancing research collaboration, particularly in shared strengths such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Information Technology, Business, and Engineering;
