Ton Duc Thang University Holds a Working Session with the Consulate General of the Netherlands in Ho Chi Minh City

On January 6, 2025, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) welcomed a delegation from the Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ho Chi Minh City, led by Ms. Hanna Pors, Deputy Consul General. The delegation also included Ms. Anne Bui, Consular Officer, and Prof. Geert Lovink from Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (the Netherlands). The meeting was held as part of efforts to strengthen exchanges, foster connections, and promote cooperation in education, research, and academic exchange between TDTU and Dutch partners.

Working with the delegation, on behalf of TDTU there was the presence of Dr. Dong Sy Thien Chau – Vice President of the University; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinh Hoang Bach – Director of the International Cooperation, Research and Training Institute, along with representatives of the leadership of several Departments and Faculties of the University.

In her welcoming remarks to the delegation, Dr. Dong Si Thien Chau, Vice President of the University, emphasized the long-standing and sustainable cooperative relationship between the University and higher education institutions in the Netherlands. Over the years, cooperation activities have been implemented in a diverse and comprehensive manner, encompassing training programs, lecturer and student exchanges, scientific research, the organization of international workshops and conferences, as well as university networking and the internationalization of academic activities. These collaborative outcomes have significantly contributed to enhancing the quality of education and research, as well as strengthening the University’s international standing.

Within the framework of the meeting, the two parties discussed orientations for expanding cooperation in the coming period, with a focus on cultural and artistic exchanges, academic exchange, interdisciplinary research, and the strengthening of academic community networks to foster innovation. TDTU expressed its hope that the Consulate General of the Netherlands would continue to serve as a bridging partner, supporting the University in expanding its cooperation network with prestigious Dutch universities and educational institutions, thereby promoting long-term and sustainable collaboration in education, research, and academic exchange.

The visit and working session of the delegation from the Consulate General of the Netherlands in Ho Chi Minh City marked an important milestone, contributing to the strengthening of the friendly cooperative relationship between TDTU and its Dutch partners, while opening up many practical opportunities for collaboration in higher education, scientific research, and cultural and academic exchange in the coming period.
