National University of Laos visiting and working with Ton Duc Thang University

On the morning of September 3, 2019, the National University of Laos (NUoL) delegation led by Dr. Houngphet Chanthavong, Vice President, visited and worked with Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU). Accompanying the delegation were Ms. Vongphan Phomphiphack, Deputy Consulate General of the Lao People's Democratic Republic (Laos) in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC). Dr. Vo Hoang Duy, Vice President of TDTU; and Head of the Postgraduate Department, Dean of College of International Studies, and Head of International Cooperation and Research for Development welcomed the delegation.

Dr. Vo Hoang Duy introduced the characteristics of the public university autonomy model, the strengths of international education at TDTU; thereby proposing prospects for cooperation in all fields of undergraduate and graduate level with NUoL.

Dr. Chanthavong, evaluating TDTU as a prestigious university with world-class quality education, training the majors that society needs, with tightened outcome quality. Based on the 2014 Memorandum of Understanding, he expected the two sides to continue to develop stronger cooperation in research and education. NUoL leaders have officially invited TDTU representatives to visit NUoL and shared TDTU's autonomy model to apply to universities in Laos.

The representative of Laos Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City, Ms. Phomphiphack thanked TDTU for creating the best opportunities and conditions for Laos students to study at TDTU.

NUoL was founded in 1996, on the basis of 10 major Laos higher education units. NUoL graduates become the main human resources at the local ministries, serving the cause of national construction and development in Laos.
