May 2025 Graduation Ceremony at Ton Duc Thang University
On May 30 and 31, 2025, Ton Duc Thang University solemnly held its graduation ceremony for doctoral, master’s, and bachelor’s degree recipients in an atmosphere of pride and dignity.
In attendance at the ceremony were Dr. Vu Anh Duc – Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Council of Ton Duc Thang; Dr. Tran Trong Dao – Chairman of the Science and Training Council and President of Ton Duc Thang University; members of the University Council and the Presidential Board; leaders of Faculties, Departments, Centers, and Institutes; lecturers of Ton Duc Thang University; distinguished parents; and especially, the new graduates.
In this graduation phase, the University conferred degrees upon 6 new PhD holders, 13 Master’s graduates, and 2,357 new Bachelors, Engineers, and Pharmacists who successfully completed their academic programs. Notably, nearly 300 students with outstanding achievements were honored during the ceremony. These included individuals who graduated with distinction, completed their programs one semester early, or attained high English proficiency with IELTS scores of 8.0 or above.
These results are a testament to the relentless efforts of TDTU students throughout their studies and training at the University. They are not only a source of pride for the TDTU lecturers but also serve as clear evidence of the comprehensive and exceptional quality of education at TDTU. Furthermore, they reflect the scientific and practical nature of the study programs implemented by the University.
In his speech at the ceremony, Dr. Tran Trong Dao – President of the University – extended his sincere and respectful congratulations to the new graduates. On behalf of the University’s academic community, the President affirmed that TDTU not only equips students with essential knowledge and skills but also fosters a culturally rich educational environment that promotes the practice of democratic, fair, effective, and service-oriented principles. With a mission of education, research, and innovation for the comprehensive development of individuals and society, TDTU aims not only to train globally competent professionals but also to inspire aspirations to reach further and contribute to building a better world.
Graduating from TDTU marks the beginning of each graduate’s journey into a world of constant change, yet rich with opportunities for personal and professional growth. We are living in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, where artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and advanced technologies are reshaping every facet of life. In this era, the spirit of innovation and creativity is not only the key to shaping the future but also an essential quality that empowers graduates to adapt and thrive in a world brimming with possibilities.
“I hope you will always uphold a spirit of constantly updating your knowledge and skills, from artificial intelligence and big data to essential soft skills such as critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership. In the digital era, you must not only excel in your professional expertise but also know how to leverage technology as a tool to create value and address major societal challenges, from climate change to inequality. More importantly, always maintain professional ethics and a strong sense of social responsibility. Technology may transform the way we work, but it is the heart and conscience that define the true value of what we do,” the President emphasized.
With 28 years of establishment and development, Ton Duc Thang University has affirmed its position as one of the leading higher education institutions in Vietnam and the region. It is among the first public universities in Vietnam to achieve international quality accreditation by HCERES (Europe) for the period 2018–2023, and it continues to be recognized by FIBAA (Germany) for the period 2024–2030. To date, 44 study programs at TDTU have been accredited by reputable international organizations such as AUN-QA, FIBAA, and ASIIN. Additionally, the University is ranked in the 201–250 group out of 1,213 top educational institutions in Asia, according to the THE Asia University Rankings 2025.
These achievements are the result of an educational development strategy based on the philosophy of liberal education, centered on the learners, closely linking academia with practical application, aimed at the holistic development of both individuals and the community.
The ceremony is not only a significant milestone in the academic journey of the new graduates but also a vivid testament to TDTU’s continuous efforts in creating a standardized, comprehensive, and pioneering educational environment, aiming to become a world-class research university.
