Orientation Week Equips TDTU Students with Skills and Confidence for the New Academic Year
From 3 to 8 August 2026, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) organized the Student Orientation Week for the 2026–2027 academic year, welcoming students admitted in 2025, 2024, and 2023, as well as students from the 2022 intake enrolled in five-year academic programs.
As an annual activity, the Student Orientation Week not only familiarizes students with the University's academic regulations and student affairs policies but also equips them with the knowledge and essential skills needed to adapt to the rapidly evolving social and professional landscape.
This year's program focused on key themes including political and ideological education, legal education, ethics and cultural values, life skills development, and mental health support. Students also continued to study TDTU's educational program on Three Moral Foundations and the University's Five Hallmarks of a TDTU Student—Discipline, Courtesy, Professionalism, Creativity, and Dedication—which contribute to fostering a responsible, distinctive, and civilized learning environment. In addition to the University-wide sessions, students participated in faculty-level orientation activities and completed supplementary online modules through the Student Portal.
A highlight of this year's program was a series of practical seminars on legal awareness and personal development delivered by experienced experts and guest speakers. Topics included Emotional Management and Shaping the Future, Preventing Legal Violations among Students, and Recognizing and Preventing Drug Abuse and Addictive Substances among Students. These sessions not only enhanced students' understanding of the law but also strengthened their ability to protect themselves, recognize online scams and emerging drug-related risks, and cultivate a healthy, responsible lifestyle.
Alongside the University-level activities, individual faculties organized orientation meetings and dialogue sessions to introduce academic plans, provide study guidance, address students' questions, and strengthen connections between students, lecturers, and academic advisors.
Through the Student Orientation Week, TDTU continues to provide students with the knowledge and practical skills necessary for successful learning and personal development while fostering resilience, civic responsibility, social awareness, and professional conduct. The program serves as an important foundation for students to embody TDTU's core values and defining characteristics as they embark on the 2026–2027 academic year with confidence and determination.
