Nhan Dan Newspaper: President of Ton Duc Thang University Reappointed for the 2026–2031 Term

On July 2, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour (VGCL) announced its decision to reappoint Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Trong Dao as President of Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) for the 2026–2031 term.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Trong Dao receives the decision on his reappointment as President of Ton Duc Thang University.

Born in 1981 in Quang Ngai Province, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Trong Dao is an Associate Professor in the field of Automation Engineering. He completed his bachelor's, master's, and doctoral studies in the Czech Republic, earning a Ph.D. in Control Engineering in 2009.

After returning to Vietnam, he joined Ton Duc Thang University as a lecturer in the Faculty of Information Technology and Applied Mathematics. He subsequently held various leadership positions across the University's administrative units and research institutes. He was appointed Vice President in 2015, Acting President in 2021, and President in 2022. He has now been reappointed to serve as President for the 2026–2031 term.

Earlier, in February 2026, the Party Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee appointed Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Trong Dao as Secretary of the TDTU Party Committee for the 2025–2030 term. He currently serves concurrently as both Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the University.
