The selection of TDTU as the venue for the 2nd Conference of the 14th Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour reflects recognition and the high regard for the University’s reputation, educational quality, university governance capacity, and modern facilities. It also demonstrates the trust placed by the Vietnam Trade Union organization in TDTU – a higher education institution under the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour – which continuously strives to develop in line with advanced standards, international integration, and community service.
The conference is a key activity in the 2026 work program of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour. During the conference, delegates heard an overview report on the matters submitted to the Executive Committee, reviewed the proposed 2026 trade union financial budget, and discussed a number of key issues, including welfare support for union members; the application of digital ecosystem platforms in trade union activities; the outcomes of Workers’ Month and the 2026 Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health; communication and political-ideological education; membership development and the establishment of grassroots trade unions; and the promotion of initiatives and innovation among workers.
The conference also featured a number of presentations from local federations of labour and sectoral trade unions, which shared practical experience in enhancing welfare support for union members, expanding membership, improving the effectiveness of grassroots trade union operations following organizational restructuring, and promoting creative labour movements.
As part of the program, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour held a review of Workers’ Month and the 2026 Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health, while commending and rewarding collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements. A total of 93 collectives and 65 individuals received Certificates of Merit, of whom 43 collectives and 17 individuals were honored directly at the conference.
On the sidelines of the program, delegates visited TDTU’s facilities, learning and research spaces, and educational environment.
