Series of Activities to Celebrate the 43rd Anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (November 20, 1982 - November 20, 2025) at Ton Duc Thang University
On November 20, 2025, many meaningful activities were held at Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) to celebrate the 43rd Anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (November 20, 1982 - November 20, 2025).
Program celebrating the 43rd Anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day
The Program was solemnly held at Grand Hall 2A, with the presence of distinguished delegates and honored guests. Representing the Former Leaders of the Party and State was Dr. Dang Ngoc Tung - Former Member of the Party Central Committee, Former Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour. Representing the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front was Mr. Nguyen Minh Dung, Director of the Department of Finance and Planning under the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
Representing the Ministry of Education and Training was Mr. Le Thang Loi – Head of the Representative Office of the Ministry of Education and Training in Ho Chi Minh City, Director of the Southern Center for Education and Training Development.
Representatives of various agencies, sectors, and local authorities (including Ho Chi Minh City Association for Promoting Education; Tan Hung Ward Party Committee; Tan My Ward Party Committee; People’s Committee of Tan Hung Ward, People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, etc.); Presidential Boards of amicable universities; and leaders of large and reputable amicable enterprises, such as Ba Huan Joint Stock Company; Dam Sen Water Park Joint Stock Company; Vietnam Rubber Group; Hoa Sen Joint Stock Company; Bibica Joint Stock Company; Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Agribank); Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV); Thanh Thanh Cong Group (TTC Group); FPT Joint Stock Company; Dong Tam Joint Stock Company; Hiep Phuoc Industrial Park Joint Stock Company; Saigontourist Travel Service Company Limited; Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank); Ben Thanh Hotel (Rex Hotel); Vietnam Public Joint Stock Commercial Bank; Quang Ngai Entrepreneurs Club in Ho Chi Minh City... attended and sent congratulatory flower baskets.
Representing the University Founding Council of Ton Duc Thang University were the distinguished delegates: Ms. Hoang Thi Khanh – Chairwoman of the University Founding Council; Mr. Cao Minh Thi and Mr. Pham Hong Ky – Members of the University Founding Council.
Representing Ton Duc Thang University were Dr. Tran Trong Dao – Chairman of the Science and Training Council, President of Ton Duc Thang University; Members of the University Council; University Presidential Board; former Chairmen of the University Council and former members of the University Presidential Board, along with a large number of retired staff, former leaders of Faculties/Departments/Divisions; Professors/Associate Professors; specialized consultants of the units; and all esteemed lecturers, researchers, and staff of the University, as well as students of VFIS, undergraduate students, graduate students, and alumni of the University, who all attended the program.
Vietnamese Teachers’ Day, November 20, is an occasion for society to honor those who have been serving in the education sector, dedicating themselves wholeheartedly to the noble cause of fostering human potential. On this occasion, the entire society looks toward the teachers and expresses the deepest gratitude and most sincere appreciation.
At the Program, Dr. Tran Trong Dao – Chairman of the Science and Training Council, President of the University, on behalf of the University Leadership Team, expressed gratitude to all lecturers and staff for their silent dedication to the education sector in general and to the long-term development of TDTU.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Tran Trong Dao – President of the University expressed: “Let us continue to join hands, continue to unite to achieve success together; especially, let us jointly create new successes to achieve milestones celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the Establishment of Ton Duc Thang University in 2027. Only in this way can we find ourselves strong every day, always full of energy for the long journey ahead, fulfilling the Mission entrusted to us by the society as well as the aspiration of those who built the foundation for Ton Duc Thang University. The students and their families are also expecting a lot from us!”
On the occasion of the 43rd Anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day, TDTU was honored to receive a Certificate of Merit from the Ministry of Education and Training for outstanding achievements in the emulation movement “Innovation and Creativity in Management, Teaching, and Learning” for the period 2020-2025. In addition to the collective achievement, at the Congress, the Ministry of Education and Training presented a Certificate of Merit to Dr. Tran Trong Dao for his typical and outstanding achievements in the movement “Innovation and Creativity in Management, Teaching, and Learning” for the period 2020-2025.
On the occasion of this year’s Vietnamese Teachers’ Day, the University also respectfully extended profound gratitude to and honored the lecturers and staff who have devoted themselves to Ton Duc Thang University through 25-year, 20-year, 15-year, and 10-year milestones. These lecturers and staff have accompanied and made significant contributions and dedication to the University’s development from its early days to the present.
Specifically, on the occasion of this year’s Vietnamese Teachers’ Day, the University received good news when 11 lecturers were recognized by the State Council for Professorship as meeting the standards for the Associate Professor title. At the Program, the entire teaching staff of the University congratulated and honored the 11 lecturers who were recently recognized with the Associate Professor title.
In addition, four lecturers of the University who were selected to the list of the world’s top 1% most influential researchers in 2025, announced by Elsevier Publishing Company and Stanford University (USA) based on citation data from the Scopus database; Dr. Le Quoc Viet – Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, who was awarded the Golden Globe Award in 2025; and undergraduate students with high achievements in scientific research and cultural, artistic, and sports activities, including the Head of Delegation, the Coach, and the University’s Women’s Basketball Team, which just won the National Student Basketball Tournament 2025, were also honored and commended on this occasion.
Some activities in the series of events celebrating Vietnamese Teachers’ Day at TDTU:
Throughout November 2025, the University and its affiliated and subordinate units, as well as the students also organized many meaningful activisties to express gratitude to all lecturers and staff of the University, such as visiting and giving gifts to retired lecturers and staff; the Week for the Completion of the Gratitude Wall, the flower arrangement contest, the decorative fruit tray contest, and the congratulatory card making contest launched by the TDTU Youth Union; the “Returning to the Old School” Program organized by the Center of Enterprise Cooperation and Alumni (CECA) in coordination with the Faculties; and the Lecturer-Staff Sports Festival organized by the Executive Committee of the University Trade Union in collaboration with the units.
The series of activities celebrating Vietnamese Teachers’ Day is an occasion for the University to acknowledge the contributions of the lecturers and staff to the University’s achievements over the past time; and at the same time, to encourage lecturers to promote their professional pride and sense of honor and responsibility as teachers, strengthen the emulation movement for excellent teaching and learning, cultivate gratitude among students, thereby contributing to enhancing the University’s educational quality.
