Memorandum of Understanding Signing Ceremony between Ton Duc Thang University and the People’s Committee of Quang Ngai Province for the 2026-2030 Period

On the morning of March 31, 2026, at the Hall of the People’s Committee of Quang Ngai Province, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) and the People’s Committee of Quang Ngai Province solemnly held the signing ceremony for a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the 2026-2030 period. The event marks a new milestone in the strategic partnership between the University and the province, aiming to leverage their strengths in education, scientific research, innovation, and digital transformation, thereby contributing to the province’s socio-economic development in the coming period.

Attending the ceremony on behalf of TDTU was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Trong Dao, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the University, together with leaders of the University’s functional units.

Representing Quang Ngai Province was Mr. Tran Phuoc Hien, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Quang Ngai Province, together with leaders of the People’s Committee and representatives of provincial departments and agencies.

Notably, the program also welcomed representatives from major enterprises and corporations operating in the province, including Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Company, Hoa Phat Group, VSIP Quang Ngai, and Viettel Group, as well as representatives from professional and scientific organizations such as the Quang Ngai Business Association and the Provincial Union of Science and Technology Associations. The strong presence of stakeholders clearly reflects a multi-stakeholder cooperation orientation, fostering close linkages among education, research, production, and business activities.

Speaking at the ceremony, representatives of both parties reviewed the positive outcomes of the cooperation between Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) and Quang Ngai Province in recent years. The collaborative programs have contributed to improving the quality of the local workforce, promoting applied scientific research, and gradually developing an innovation ecosystem aligned with the province’s practical needs.

A wide range of meaningful cooperative activities has been effectively implemented, including training and capacity-building for officials, consulting on technological solutions, supporting pupils and students, and fostering connections with enterprises. These efforts have further affirmed the University’s role in accompanying the locality toward sustainable development.

Entering the 2026-2030 period, in the context of the newly reorganized Quang Ngai Province following administrative consolidation, with expanded development space and greater potential in industry, urban development, logistics, and the marine economy, both parties agreed to broaden their cooperation in a more comprehensive and in-depth manner.

According to the agreement, the key areas of cooperation include:

- Education and high-quality human resource development: implementing training and capacity-building programs, transferring advanced educational models, and supporting local pupils and students.

- Scientific research and technology transfer: focusing on key fields such as artificial intelligence (AI), geographic information systems (GIS), unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), advanced materials, pharmaceuticals, environmental technology, marine economy, and sustainable development.

- Enterprise engagement and innovation: promoting collaboration with major corporations and enterprises in the province, supporting entrepreneurship, facilitating technology transfer, and attracting investment.

In his remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Trong Dao emphasized that this cooperation signing holds significant importance in concretizing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on the development of science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation, as well as Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW on breakthrough development in education and training.

Leveraging its strengths in education, research, and technology transfer, the University will accompany Quang Ngai Province in its digital transformation process, enhancing competitiveness and promoting sustainable development.

Representatives of the People’s Committee of Quang Ngai Province highly appreciated the capacity and reputation of TDTU, while affirming that the province will create favorable conditions for the effective implementation of cooperation programs, thereby contributing to the achievement of socio-economic development goals for the 2026-2030 period.
