Strengthening national defense and security is a vital task for educators

On 24 April 2019, the Council of National Defense and Security Education (QP-AN) in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) cooperating with Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) held the Closing Ceremony of the course for Fostering Knowledge of National Defense and Security for Group 3 at TDTU.

Attending the closing ceremony there were Senior Lieutenant Colonel Pham Xuan Kieu, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of Ho Chi Minh City Command; Senior Lieutenant Colonel Ha Van Tien, Member of the Council of National Defense and Security Education; Senior Lieutenant Colonel Huynh Cong Lap, the Head of the militia and self-defense department of Ho Chi Minh City Command; and representative of District 7 Military Command. From TDTU, there were Dr. Tran Trong Dao, Vice President; Colonel Nguyen Tien Loc, Director of National Defense and Security Education Center and 44 students of the class for Fostering Knowledge of National Defense and Security for Group 3. 

Sharing at the ceremony, Senior Lieutenant Colonel Ha Van Tien affirmed that thoroughly grasping the Party's ideology, and improving the knowledge of the national defense against peaceful developments of hostile forces are key tasks for officials in the education sector. He also said that the successful organization of a 6-week training course at TDTU is the result of caring and supporting from the HCMC Council of National Defense and Security Education and the University.

After the course, all 44 students meet the requirements and are granted a certificate of completion; in which there are 2 outstanding students.

Dr. Tran Trong Dao, Vice President of TDTU proposed that managers who have just completed the course need to apply the knowledge that has been fostered, actively propagate about National Defense and Security and build the people's armed forces for lecturers and staffs of their units; as well as students, and relatives to promote the effectiveness of the course.
