Ton Duc Thang University hosts and holds a working session with a delegation from Shanghai Normal University
On October 12, 2026, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) welcomed a delegation from Shanghai Normal University (SHNU), China, for a working session to discuss the implementation of existing cooperation programs and the expansion of collaborative activities in education, scientific research, and academic exchange.
During the meeting, both sides focused on discussing directions for strengthening cooperation in education and research, particularly in the fields of social sciences, political science, law, and other areas of mutual interest. The discussions covered enhancing student and faculty exchanges; inviting experts and professors to participate in teaching and research; and jointly organizing conferences, seminars, and other academic activities.
A key focus of the meeting was the implementation of the 2+2 dual-degree undergraduate program in Chinese Language jointly offered by TDTU and SHNU. The two universities discussed the program's implementation progress and measures to improve coordination in education and student support.
As part of the visit, the SHNU delegation also toured TDTU's campus and facilities to learn about the University's educational and research environment and the resources available to support academic activities.
SHNU is a key comprehensive university in Shanghai, with strengths in education, languages, social sciences, and humanities, while also offering multidisciplinary programs in natural sciences, engineering, and the arts. TDTU and SHNU established their partnership in 2024. In October 2025, a TDTU delegation led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Trong Dao visited SHNU for a working session. In December 2025, the two universities subsequently signed an agreement and launched the 2+2 dual-degree program in Chinese Language, marking a concrete step forward in their partnership.
The meeting provided an opportunity for TDTU and SHNU to further strengthen their partnership, enhance the effectiveness of existing cooperation programs, and expand opportunities for collaboration in education, scientific research, and academic exchange, thereby contributing to the development of higher education cooperation between Vietnam and China.
