Welcoming and Collaborating with the Delegation of University of the Arts London, UK

On March 5, 2024, the delegation of University of the Arts London (UAL), UK, led by Ms. Aliya Sorgen - Head of the Global Partnerships Department, International Relations Unit and Mr. George Maxwell - Coordinator of the Global Partnerships Department, visited and collaborated at Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU).

Representatives from TDTU, including Dr. Nguyen Thi My Ngoc - Assistant Director, International Cooperation, Research and Training Institute (INCRETI); Dr. Tran Van Duc - Head of Architecture Department, Faculty of Civil Engineering; Mr. Nguyen Hai Binh (MSc.) - Deputy Head of Architecture Department, Faculty of Civil Engineering; and lecturers of the Faculty of Industrial Fine Arts and the Faculty of Civil Engineering, welcomed and collaborated with the delegation.

The two universities exchanged cooperation content in areas, such as developing and implementing short-term programs for students of the two Universities to study abroad/cultural exchange in the fields of Architecture and Design, potential development of joint single/dual degree undergraduate programs in the fields of Architecture and Design, research cooperation between research groups/centers/institutes of both Universities in Architecture and Design fields, and organizing conferences and seminars in the fields of Architecture and Design.

Speaking at the working session, Ms. Aliya Sorgen - Head of the Global Partnerships Department at UAL, introduced an overview of the formation and development history of UAL, as well as, expressed gratitude for the hospitality, warm welcome, and friendliness of TDTU.

UAL is ranked Top 120 according to the QS World University Rankings for Arts in 2023 and has won numerous prestigious awards from the UK government, as well as, from the world in recent years. UAL was established in 2003. It includes 6 member universities specializing in the fields of Arts, Design, Fashion, Communication and Performance. Over 50% of the University’s research projects are rated as world-leading, with over 77.5% of their artwork and projects being internationally acclaimed.
