On April 3, 2024, a Delegation from South China University of Technology (SCUT), led by Dr. Zhang Xichun - Chancellor of SCUT and the Heads of SCUT Faculties/Institutes, visited and worked at Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU).
During this visit, the Delegation was warmly welcomed by Dr. Tran Trong Dao – President of TDTU, Dr. Vo Hoang Duy - Vice President of TDTU, Dr. Dinh Hoang Bach - Director of the International Cooperation, Research and Training Institute, and leaders of several Departments under the University.
The Delegation embarked on a tour around the campus of TDTU in Tan Phong ward to observe the facilities and learning environment, followed by a working session with TDTU’s Presidential Board and several units under the University.
The two parties had a formal working session during which they signed an MOU to implement cooperative activities related to the fields of training and research. Particularly, in the upcoming years, both universities will focus on implementing the following plans: i) short-term student exchange programs, including cultural exchange, professional internship, one-semester exchange, summer camp, implementation of graduation projects with guidance from lecturers on both sides; ii) exchange programs for lecturers/researchers and scientists who have experience with research cooperation, projects and reports at Conferences/Seminars/Academic activities; iii) coordination in postgraduate admission, support for foreign lecturers/professors who work, teach and conduct research at TDTU and vice versa; iv) co-organization of international Seminars/Conferences in the fields of mutual interest.
Established in 1952, SCUT has been listed as one of the core Universities operating directly under the Ministry of Education of China. Its focus and strengths lie in mechanical engineering and automation, architecture, civil engineering and transportation, electrical energy, electronics and information technology, chemistry, and chemical engineering. SCUT took the 400th place in the QS International University Rankings 2024, the 300th place in the THE World University Rankings 2024, and 47th place in the THE Asian University Rankings 2023.
