Ton Duc Thang University Co-organizes a Conference on Crime Prevention Awareness for Students

On December 26, 2025, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) in coordination with the Office of the Ministry of Public Security and Department of Student Affairs - Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) organized a Conference on Crime Prevention Awareness for the University’s students.

Attending the Conference, on behalf of the MOET, was Mr. Nguyen Xuan An Viet, Deputy Director General of the Department of Student Affairs, MOET. Representing the Ministry of Public Security were Senior Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Tat Trinh – Deputy Head of the Police Staff Division, Office of the Ministry of Public Security; Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Sinh Huy – the main specialist of the Police Staff Division, Office of the Ministry of Public Security; Lieutenant Colonel Pham Thuy Dung – Reporter from Division 3, Criminal Police Department, Ministry of Public Security. From Ho Chi Minh City Police Department, the Conference was attended by Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Quoc Dung – Deputy Team Leader of the Education Security Team, Department of Internal Political Security, Ho Chi Minh City Police Department. Representing TDTU were Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Son, Vice President of the University, along with more than 1,000 students, lecturers, and staff members of the University.

The Conference was a meaningful and practical activity, demonstrating the close attention of the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Education and Training to political and ideological education, moral education, as well as to enhancing students’ awareness of law compliance in the context of international integration.

At the Conference, a reporter from the Criminal Police Department under the Ministry of Public Security presented two thematic reports aimed at raising students’ awareness and skills in crime prevention, including:

• Thematic report 1: Notification of methods and tactics used by high-tech criminals who exploit cyberspace to commit crimes infringing upon social order.
• Thematic report 2: Basic skills and measures to enhance awareness in preventing high-tech crimes that infringe upon social order in cyberspace.

Through the Conference, TDTU reaffirmed its commitment to continuing close coordination with the Ministry of Education and Training, the Ministry of Public Security, and Ho Chi Minh City Police Department in organizing communication and legal education activities, thereby contributing to enhancing students’ awareness of law compliance and building a safe and sustainable educational environment.

Previously, on October 17, 2025, TDTU was selected to conduct a survey and host a panel discussion to assess the current situation and the outcomes of collaborative efforts in ensuring security and order, as well as in preventing crime and legal violations among students in 2025. This underscores the University’s significant role and prestige in the field of campus legal education.

In response to the new requirements for ensuring security and order within educational institutions, TDTU has implemented various models that promote students’ proactive roles notably the “Student Vanguard in Ensuring Security and Order at TDTU” model. This contributes to the creation of a safe, disciplined, and civilized learning environment.
