On the morning of March 26, 2022, at Hall 10F - Ton Duc Thang University, Faculty of Sports Science - solemnly celebrated the 5th anniversary of establishment (March 31, 2017 – March 31, 2022). Dr. Tran Trong Dao - Acting President, leaders of units under the university, partner businesses, lecturers and many generations of students of the Faculty of Sports Science had attended the ceremony.
At the ceremony, Dr. Tran Trong Dao acknowledged the efforts of the lecturers and students of the Faculty of Sports Science in professional development, contribution and overall sustainable development of the University.
MSc. Pham Thanh Anh Khoa - Head of the Faculty of Sports Science reviewed the 5-year tradition of establishment and development, as well as the achievements of the faculty in training, teaching, scientific research and other activities in the past time.
On this occasion, the Faculty also commended the lecturers, staff, alumni and students who have made outstanding contributions to the development of the Faculty. In order to build a link between the faculty and generations of alumni, the Association of Alumni of the Faculty had been established and introduced on this occasion.
Formerly, the Faculty of Sports Science was the Center for Physical Education and National Defense, which was established on June 1, 2009 with two divisions: Physical Education and National Defense Education and the division of Sports Management was established in 2012. In 2017, the Faculty of Sports Science was officially established based on the separation of the professional function of physical education and sports management from the Center for Physical Education and National Defense.
Currently, Faculty of Sports Science is one of 16 faculties of Ton Duc Thang University, training 2 undergraduate majors including Sports Management and Golf. In addition, the faculty also has a master's program in Sports Management. Many of the faculty's students and alumni are famous in the field of sports such as "Miss Martial Arts" Chau Tuyet Van, 2010 Taekwondo World Champion Nguyen Thi Le Kim and many other outstanding faces.
