Associate Professor Dr. Tran Trong Dao Reappointed as President of Ton Duc Thang University for the 2026-2031 Term
On July 2, 2026, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour announced its decision to appoint Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Trong Dao as President of Ton Duc Thang University for the 2026-2031 term.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Trong Dao was born in 1981 in Quang Ngai Province and was awarded the title of Associate Professor in Automation Engineering. He completed his undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral studies in the Czech Republic, earning a Ph.D. in Control Engineering in 2009. After returning to Vietnam, he joined Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU), where he has held various positions, ranging from lecturer and manager to Vice President and Acting President, before being officially appointed as President in 2022. In February 2026, he was appointed Secretary of the Party Committee of TDTU for the 2025-2030 term.
On the same day, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour also announced the decision to appoint Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Son as Vice President of Ton Duc Thang University for the 2026-2031 term.
The reappointments reflect the trust of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour in the University’s leadership team while ensuring continuity and stability in the University’s governance. They also provide a solid foundation for Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) to continue implementing its development strategy as a research-oriented university, further enhancing the quality of education, scientific research, innovation, and international integration.
