VNExpress: Ton Duc Thang University Launches International Journal on Economics
Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) officially launched the International Journal of Business and Sustainable Economics (JBSE) on September 23, in collaboration with World Scientific Publishing (Singapore) for global distribution.
The International Journal of Business and Sustainable Economics (JBSE) is envisioned as an academic forum for scientists, experts, and policymakers to publish and exchange new research findings. Its key areas of focus include business, economics, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development.
According to TDTU, JBSE was established at a time when economic and business issues are increasingly being considered in relation to social responsibility, adaptability, and long-term value for people and the environment. The journal aims to publish studies with rigorous research methodologies and clear practical implications, thereby connecting academic research with the requirements of sustainable development.
Speaking at the launch ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Trong Dao, President of TDTU, emphasized that the quality of a scientific journal is built on the quality of each article, the rigor of its peer-review process, integrity in publishing, and its ability to foster meaningful academic dialogue.
According to the President, the journal will focus on three priorities: academic quality, international standards, and a clearly defined scholarly identity. Being indexed in international scientific databases such as Web of Science and Scopus is an important goal, but this should be the outcome of substantive and sustainable development.
The launch of JBSE is aligned with the implementation of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in science, technology, and innovation development and Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in education and training development. It is also part of TDTU’s Development Plan for the 2025–2030 period.
Since 2017, TDTU has developed English-language scientific journals. Among them, the Journal of Information and Telecommunication is currently indexed in Web of Science and Scopus, while the Journal of Advanced Engineering and Computation is recognized for academic evaluation in the field of Mechanics by the State Council for Professorship.
According to the University, the experience gained from developing these journals provides a foundation for operating JBSE in accordance with international standards for scientific publishing.
TDTU stated that it will provide the necessary resources, facilities, and academic environment to support the stable operation of JBSE while ensuring its academic independence. The University expects that the participation of the international Editorial Board, peer reviewers, and publishing partner World Scientific will enable JBSE to gradually establish its academic reputation in the fields of business, economics, and sustainable development.
