Ton Duc Thang University Hosts the 2026 Admissions Conference of the Ministry of Education and Training
On April 20, 2026, at Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU), the Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) organized the 2026 Admissions Conference to review the 2025 admission work, implement the tasks for 2026, and provide orientations for 2027. The conference was held in a hybrid format (combining in-person and online), with the main hub located at Hall 2A, TDTU.
The conference was chaired by Prof. Dr. Le Quan – Deputy Minister of Education and Training, with the attendance of leaders from various units under the Ministry, such as Department of Higher Education, Department of Information Technology, and the Vietnam Education Quality Management Agency, along with representatives from many higher education institutions across the country. On the side of TDTU, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Trong Dao – President of the University attended, and functional units participated in coordinating the organization of the conference.
In the opening speech, Prof. Dr. Le Quan stated that the 2026 admission work will be implemented in a direction of stability and process simplification, while simultaneously focusing on overcoming the limitations and shortcomings that arose in previous enrollment seasons. This is an important orientation aimed at improving admission quality, enhancing management efficiency, and gradually expanding institutional autonomy for higher education institutions.
At the conference, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tien Thao – Director General of the Higher Education Department presented a summary report on the 2025 admission work and the implementation plan for 2026. The report emphasized the requirement to continue improving admission quality, ensuring that institutional autonomy is linked to the accountability of training institutions, while also perfecting the admission system in a synchronized, transparent, and efficient manner.
During the discussion session, delegates focused on exchanging many important contents related to admission work in the coming period, highlighted by 5 key groups of issues: implementing new admission regulations in conjunction with determining quotas safely and effectively; promoting the application of digital technology, building an interconnected and accurate admission system; reviewing and standardizing admission methods to ensure input quality and fairness for candidates; linking admission with labor market human resource demand forecasting; enhancing the role of career orientation and counseling at high schools.
In the concluding remarks of the conference, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Le Quan emphasized that issues arising during the implementation of major policies are unavoidable, especially in the field of admission. Therefore, the formulation and issuance of policies need to be thoroughly and comprehensively researched, based on fully incorporating feedback from training institutions, experts, and relevant units. The Deputy Minister also stated that the Ministry of Education and Training aims to maintain stable admission regulations until 2030, thereby creating favorable conditions for universities to be more proactive in developing appropriate admission strategies.
This conference once again demonstrates the active role of Ton Duc Thang University in coordinating with the Ministry of Education and Training to organize important professional activities for the education sector. With meticulous preparation of facilities, technical infrastructure, coordination, and service work, TDTU significantly contributed to the overall success of the conference, ensuring the program took place seriously, effectively, and according to plan; and further affirming the University’s position, prestige, and professionalism in accompanying academic, management, and educational policy-making activities on a national scale.
