Ton Duc Thang University Launches the “TDTU Vibe Coding” Expanded Innovation Competition 2026

On the morning of April 3, 2026, the Launching Ceremony of the “TDTU Vibe Coding” Expanded Innovation Competition 2026 was held at Hall 10F, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU). The event marked the beginning of a groundbreaking technology playground, bringing “Vibe Coding” – a modern creative trend supported by artificial intelligence (AI) – closer to young people.

Attending the Launching Ceremony were representatives of agencies and organizations in Ho Chi Minh City, including the Center of Science and Technology Development for Youth, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology, and the Ho Chi Minh City Digital Transformation Center; along with leaders of faculties and units under TDTU, representatives of high school leadership, as well as partner enterprises and sponsors.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Duong Thi Thuy Van – Director of the Center for Innovation and Technology Transfer (CITT), Deputy Head of the Competition Organizing Committee, emphasized: “The competition is not only an academic activity but also a concrete step in the strategy to put AI at the center of practical training, contributing to the realization of the spirit of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on the development of science, technology, and innovation, along with Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in the development of education and training.”.

The competition is organized on an expanded scale, consisting of 2 competition categories for 3 groups of participants: (1) Students currently studying at TDTU and the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education; (2) students of high schools that have signed cooperation agreements with TDTU. Not just an academic playground, the competition is also a space for creative connection, creating conditions for high school and university students to access, experience, and step-by-step master technology in the digital era.

The “TDTU Vibe Coding” Expanded Innovation Competition 2026 is designed with an innovative orientation, encouraging contestants to apply AI tools to build high-applicability technology products. With “Vibe Coding,” contestants are not limited by programming languages or technology platforms but focus on creating practical solutions capable of operating and solving problems in three key areas: Learning, entertainment, and the environment.

In addition, the competition also creates a strong attraction with a total prize value for each category of up to 50 million VND, along with many opportunities to connect and work with experts and enterprises in the field of technology and innovation. This is not only an opportunity for contestants to demonstrate their abilities but also opens up future career paths.

The launching ceremony attracted the participation of more than 300 TDTU students and students from high schools that have signed cooperation agreements with TDTU, creating a dynamic connection space where the spirit of innovation and passion for technology are strongly spread.

Especially, at the ceremony, a cooperation signing ceremony took place between the the Center for Innovation and Technology Transfer (CITT) and partner enterprises. The cooperation agreements focus on promoting research, training, and technology transfer activities in the field of innovation and Industry 4.0, while also strengthening the connection between the University and enterprises, creating conditions for students to access a practical environment and improve their professional capacity and vocational skills.

The competition will be implemented over 3 months, including rounds from preliminary and semi-finals to finals, combined with a series of specialized workshops to support contestants in perfecting their ideas and developing products.
