Experience Exchange between Ton Duc Thang University and Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Engineering
On March 5, 2026, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) hosted a working session with Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Engineering (HCMUTE) to exchange experiences and strengthen cooperation between the two universities.
The HCMUTE delegation was led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Hieu Giang, President of HCMUTE. Working with the delegation from TDTU were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Trong Dao, President of TDTU, and Dr. Dong Si Thien Chau, Vice President of TDTU, together with representatives from various departments and units of both universities.
The session focused on sharing experiences in university governance, human resource development, examination and quality assurance, university rankings, and the promotion of scientific research and innovation. The discussion also aimed to further implement the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two universities on April 29, 2025.
Speaking at the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Trong Dao – Rector of Ton Duc Thang University – shared TDTU's experience in university governance under the autonomous orientation, especially solutions for managing and developing high-quality human resources sustainably, aiming to improve the quality of training, scientific research, and the academic standing of the University.
At the meeting, the leaders of both universities also affirmed the important role of the shared university model and cooperative alliances between higher education institutions. This is considered a suitable direction for universities to leverage their strengths, strengthen cooperation in training, research, and scientific publications, thereby contributing to the mission of developing high-quality higher education, and contributing to the effective implementation of major State policies on science and technology development, innovation, digital transformation, and breakthroughs in education and training.

Following the program, leaders of departments/units from both universities held detailed discussions on various professional topics and tasks. Through sharing practical experiences and learning from each other, the two units supported each other in further improving the effectiveness of university management, while also opening up many new avenues for cooperation in the future.
