On June 6, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) and the People’s Committee of Gia Lai Province signed a cooperation agreement for the 2026–2030 period, focusing on high-quality human resource development and technology transfer aligned with local development needs.
Bringing Knowledge into Practice
The event was co-chaired by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Trong Dao, President of TDTU, and Mr. Lam Hai Giang, Vice Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People’s Committee, with the participation of leaders from provincial departments and agencies, as well as representatives of TDTU’s functional units.

Over the years, cooperation between TDTU and Gia Lai Province (including the former provinces of Gia Lai and Binh Dinh) has generated numerous tangible outcomes, contributing directly to local development.
Human resource training and professional development programs for public officials have been implemented systematically and effectively.
Career guidance activities have also been strengthened through cooperation agreements with high schools across the province and experiential student programs, enabling high school students to access admissions information and choose study fields that match both their abilities and the province’s workforce needs.
The University has awarded 177 scholarships to students from Gia Lai Province, with a total value exceeding VND 3.5 billion. Volunteer initiatives, including the construction of charitable houses, children’s playgrounds, and community support programs, have also been implemented effectively and meaningfully.
A key highlight of the partnership has been scientific research and technology transfer.
Numerous research projects led by TDTU have been successfully implemented in Gia Lai, focusing on areas closely linked to the province’s socio-economic development, including eco-tourism and community-based tourism, high-tech agricultural applications, and the digitalization of investment promotion activities. These initiatives have contributed to improving human resource quality and advancing scientific research within the province.
Expanding Cooperation for a New Development Phase
For the 2026–2030 period, TDTU and Gia Lai Province have agreed to expand cooperation in education and training, science and technology, particularly programs supporting the implementation of Resolution No. 57 on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation, and national digital transformation.
In education, TDTU will continue providing professional development opportunities for educational administrators and teachers, while expanding innovative educational experience programs for high school students.
In addition, the University will continue to offer a wide range of scholarships to students from Gia Lai Province through its annual scholarship fund.
In science and technology, both parties will focus on addressing local development challenges by leveraging TDTU’s expertise. Priority areas include artificial intelligence (AI), digital transformation, public administration, data management, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), geographic information systems (GIS), smart urban planning, and renewable energy.
Programs aimed at connecting investment resources and supporting youth entrepreneurship, with the goal of promoting sustainable local economic development, will also be prioritized.
The expanded partnership is expected to help meet the growing demand for high-quality human resources, accelerate the application of science and technology and digital transformation, and create new momentum for Gia Lai Province’s development in the years ahead.
