On January 4th, 2020, the Delegation of the People's Committee of Binh Dinh Province came to Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) to summarize the more-than-1-year duration of implementing the Comprehensive Cooperation Agreement between the Province and the University. The Delegation consisted of Mr. Nguyen Tuan Thanh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of the Province; heads of the departments: Education & Training, Science & Technology, Planning & Investment, Tourism, Construction, Finance, and People's Committee Office of the Province. Professor Le Vinh Danh, President; Vice Presidents; heads of departments and offices; deans of faculties; and directors of centers and institutes of TDTU welcomed and worked with the Delegation.
After more than a year of implementing the Comprehensive Cooperation Agreement, the two sides agreed that significant achievements had been made in education, training, and retraining; scientific research and technology transfer; promoting investment, and improving the business environment. Heads of professional units of the two sides discussed, raised the shortcomings and proposed solutions. They also agreed on the improvement actions to promote the effectiveness of better cooperation in 2020 and subsequent years.
Cooperation with localities is a major policy of TDTU to quickly expand educational, scientific, and technological activities for the communities and develop the scale of transferring educational, scientific, and technological results to the society. Cooperation with high schools is to support the improvement of the quality of basic subjects such as English, information technology, physical education, etc. to reduce the re-teaching of these subjects at the university level; so that students can take time to focus on their specialization intensely.
On the same day, in the morning, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Thanh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of the Province also spoke to a number of businesses, lecturers-staff and nearly 1,000 TDTU students about the socio-economic development situation of Binh Dinh Province in 2019; and the list of projects that the Province was calling for investment. The talk provided a lot of useful information for teachers in making ideas for cooperation with the Province; at the same time helped students grasp the Province's strengths and job opportunities in Binh Dinh Province.
