On the morning of June 4, 2026, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) held a working session with the School of Medicine and Pharmacy (SMP) – The University of Danang to implement cooperation activities under the Memorandum of Understanding signed between TDTU and The University of Danang on March 30, 2026.
During the meeting, the two institutions signed a Cooperation Plan on Science, Technology, and Innovation, while also discussing strategic directions for collaboration in scientific research, education, and the development of high-quality human resources.
Under the cooperation plan, both parties will facilitate the participation of lecturers and researchers in joint research groups; collaborate on research projects at various levels; and share academic resources, scientific databases, laboratories, and research infrastructure. The two institutions will also strengthen academic exchange through domestic and international conferences, scientific seminars, and workshops for faculty members and students, while creating opportunities for lecturers to participate in each other's academic activities.
In particular, TDTU and SMP will jointly develop research proposals, support sample and data collection, and conduct specialized data analysis at affiliated hospitals. The two sides will also cooperate in reviewing and approving research proposals through the Biomedical Research Ethics Committee of the School of Medicine and Pharmacy – The University of Danang and the Animal Research Ethics Committee of TDTU. In addition, both institutions will seek opportunities to propose and implement highly applicable research projects, especially in the development of pharmaceutical products derived from medicinal herbs and technology-transfer-oriented products.
Beyond research collaboration, the two institutions agreed to promote domestic and international student exchange programs, providing students with opportunities for academic study and experiential learning through a “one country, multiple destinations” model. SMP will also encourage and introduce students to participate in entrepreneurship competitions organized by TDTU, thereby fostering innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit among students.
The working session marked an important step in implementing the cooperation framework between TDTU and The University of Danang, contributing to the enhancement of each institution’s strengths and advancing research capacity, educational quality, and innovation activities in the years ahead.
