TDTU Supports the Development of UAV Contest 2026, Promoting Student Research and Innovation

The International UAV Contest 2026 has recently concluded with the participation of numerous universities from Vietnam and abroad, further reaffirming the role of Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) in connecting, leading, and fostering international-scale research and innovation activities for students.

As one of the four co-founding institutions of the competition, TDTU, together with Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education, the Vietnam Aviation Academy, and VSB – Technical University of Ostrava (Czech Republic), continues to develop the UAV Contest into a prestigious academic and technological platform in the fields of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), artificial intelligence (AI), and advanced technologies.

UAV Contest 2026 brought together 10 teams from seven universities in Vietnam and abroad. Notably, universities from Slovakia participated in the competition for the first time, alongside several Vietnamese higher education institutions, demonstrating the growing influence and international reach of the event. TDTU competed with two teams, showcasing the University’s strengths in research, innovation, and international integration in cutting-edge technology fields.

As part of the program, TDTU, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education, the Vietnam Aviation Academy, and VSB – Technical University of Ostrava signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen collaboration in scientific research, innovation, and advanced technology development. The cooperation focuses on strategic areas such as artificial intelligence, unmanned aerial vehicles, intelligent systems, big data, and applied research projects, while also expanding academic exchanges, joint research initiatives, and international university networking activities.

The event further reflects TDTU’s commitment to investing in science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation in education and research. It also provides students with opportunities to engage in international academic competitions, cultivate innovative thinking, and develop applied research capabilities. This initiative is one of the University’s concrete efforts to implement the spirit of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on the development of science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation.
