"Pink" culture at TDTU

Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) is known as a distinctive university. The pink traditional Ao dai those female students wear is one of the features which also makes TDTU become immediately recognizable.

Since the TDTU’s day of establishment, several generations of TDTU during the two-decade period have been accompanied by the pink Ao dai and the white shirt which have fostered a school culture. In particular, since 2010, after surveying and soliciting the students, the University has standardised its traditional costumes as male students have worn white shirts and dark trousers while female students have worn Ao dai with the embroidered TDTU logo standing out on the elegant petal pink background. The costumes give a powerful message and reminder about the national pride and tradition, and the equality of rights among students; and create the habit of respect for the community, well-ordered life and effective learning.

Ao dai has been considered as the most elegant and typical image of Vietnamese women. The TDTU female students’ pink Ao Dai is also a fascinating mix between its elegant design and the color of national floral emblem. Particularly, during the international events at TDTU, the pink Ao dai becomes more prominent than ever in the eyes of the guest from all over the world. It is one of the valuable chances that the elegance and youthfulness of Vietnamese women to international friends are displayed successfully.

In the lecture hall, the library, the hall, on the stage or simply in a green corner of TDTU, we still easily feel the charming, youthful and very dynamic traits of TDTU female students  in the pink Ao dai.

The pink Ao dai has become a close friend to each female student; and a lifestyle, unforgettable cultural feature on wonderful days at TDTU. Wherever you happen to be, when you come across a pink Ao dai flying in the wind, you can be sure that is a TDTU student!
