The military semester at Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) has now become one of the memorable memories of youth of TDTU students every summer. This is a comprehensive training program organized for students at Tan Phong Campus (Ho Chi Minh City) and Bao Loc Campus (Lam Dong Province) with a variety of experiential activities, full implementation of the regime and daily activities of a new recruit such as military operations training, the positions of movement on the battlefield; learning about the features, composition as well as the way to take apart a weapon and put it back together; overcoming barriers and learning about first aid, etc. These exercises help the young generation today understand the difficulties and struggles that their fathers experienced in the history of preserving the country. From here, they have a sense of preserving the tradition of the Vietnam People's Army, understand the spirit of patriotism, the national spirit and always be ready to serve the country.
In addition, students also attended training workshops on "Skills to survive in extreme conditions", "Student morality in the new age", cultural and sport exchange activities, making a habit of getting up and going to bed on time, watching the news program every night, etc. In particular, it is impossible not to mention the letters students sent to their families from TDTU parade ground. Perhaps, this was the first time many students wrote letters containing love, thankfulness and apologies from the bottom of their hearts to their parents, which has not been done until they became TDTU students and took part in this semester, they had an opportunity to understand and express this feeling.
The military semester took place for a short time, but it was a very meaningful summer and an indispensable color in the picture of learning, training and showing the quality of TDTU students. It helped students train their will, live more responsibly with themselves, their family and society and develop the team spirit “one for the team”. Therefore, after 5 years or 10 years or whenever they overheard the familiar siren as well as see the blue uniforms, each "soldier" will remember the Military semester at TDTU, where "There is no difficulty you cannot overcome?
