On the afternoon of March 23rd, 2019, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) and First Solar Vietnam Co., Ltd. (First Solar) signed the Memorandum of Understanding. Representing TDTU, there were Dr. Vo Hoang Duy, Vice President, Director of the Center of Enterprise Cooperation and Alumni; Leaders of the faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Environment & Labor Safety, Foreign Languages, Applied Sciences and Information Technology. On First Solar side, Mr. See Chong Chan, General Manager; Mr. Vu Minh Hung, Senior Manager of Safety and Security department, along with leaders of other deparments of the company attended the signing ceremony. Attending the meeting, there were Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Diep, Director of the Center for Employment and Information Services of the Export Processing and Industrial Zones (JESC).

Under the MOU, the two sides will deploy the internship programs for TDTU students at First Solar. First Solar will give priority to receiving students who have interned in here for career opportunities. In addition, the two sides also agreed to organize other activities for the purposes of career orientation, skills development for TDTU students.

First Solar is a US solar panel manufacturer, established in 1999. In Vietnam, First Solar has a factory located in Dong Nam Industrial Zone, Cu Chi ward. The cooperation with First Solar is part of a series of activities linking education and training with the practice of TDTU; especially for Renewable Energy Specialization; while contributing to the implementation of TDTU's sustainable development policy on energy.
