Seminar: Why Electrochemistry at TDTU?

Electrochemistry plays a fundamental role in the field of Chemistry and its applied researches have been conducted in many different sciences. Electrochemistry is directly related to the difference in the free energy during reactions, which helps to optimize the efficiency of energy storage and conversion. Having this advantage, electrochemistry has many applications in science and technology (such as research on energy storage and conversion, material science, and corrosion process), life sciences and biology (medicine, research on cells and artificial organs), environmental science (sensors) and many other important areas.

Compared to other types of energy, electrochemistry also has the advantage of mobility (electrification by batteries and fuel cells, and hydrogen technology), decentralized energy, communication, and global warming.

The periodic scientific seminar organized by Department for Management of Science and Technology Development (DEMASTED) of Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) will give the introduction of electrochemistry and research into this field at TDTU.

Speaker: Dr. Guenther G. Scherer, an expert in the field of Electrochemistry, formerly the Head of the Electrochemistry Laboratory at the Paul Scherrer Institute, Switzerland. Until now, Dr. Guenther G. Scherer has published 177 works in prestigious ISI journals;

Time: from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on June 5, 2019;
