“Real man” of chiildren falling in love with cartoons

The filmmaking industry is not unfamiliar in the present society, but making 3D animated films for children in Vietnam is still new and fascinating.

The 3D animation "Pupipo: The First Met," which was released a short time ago, has attracted the attention of many children ,producers, and those who love 3D filmmaking. When it comes to Pupipo, no one would imagine that the "father" of the movie is a 9X generation student: Bui Viet Son, Graphic Design department (Intake 18) of Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU)

Dreaming of making a cartoon for himself one way, Son usually self-studied, watched tutorial clips on how to create effects and graphics in 2D and 3D from high school. The effects and techniques in filmmaking technology fascinated him and he naturally remembered every detail.

Determined to pursue the chosen path, Son entered TDTU to continue to realize his dream. Son shares that: lecturers at TDTU always accompanied and also gave their attention and spiritual encouragement to me. The comments and suggestions from them helped me see the pros and cons of the work, so that my graduation thesis got better. Fortunately, in the second year of university, he had a chance to work part time at Planion Animation.

His road to success had many difficulties and challenges, he had to do his best to overcome. He recalled his difficult time and said: The biggest problem was machines, the quality of the product completion time of the film. My house is quite far away from the University, while working on graduation projects I still worked at the company; It took me 4 hours to go every day, so the time for my project was very tight. The most stressful time for me was when I finalized the project before graduation: the difficulties of the machinery, the continuous problems...; but my lecturers and friends were constantly motivating and encouraging me, along with support from the company, especially Mr. Nguyen Quang Huy (Director of Planion Animation).

The result of this silent effort was the birth of "Pupipo: The First Met." Son said that he loved this quote: "A man who does not spend time with his family can never be a real man" [Don Carleone -The Godfather]. At present, Son is not only trying to be a real man for his family, but also strive to become a real man for children in the country.

Those who are always optimistic and determined to overcome the challenge will receive good lucks. Son is not an exception. He cherishes his next plans: cultivate knowledge, accumulate work experience and reward himself with comfortable travels with relatives, friends.
