Feeling on graduation day

Tran Trung Tin (New Bachelor of Faculty of Information Technology)

Dear Lecturers, Parents and all my fellow students who have completed their studies in Master, Bachelor, and Engineering.

Four years ago, in the early days of May like this time, I was very confused to choose a standard educational environment to continue to improve my knowledge and professional skills. At that time, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) was not the first and only option for me as well as many friends here. I still remember clearly the day I received the news that my grade was not good enough to pass the 1st preference, I felt so disappointed. However, that feeling quickly dissipated when I got admission into TDTU and I knew that from here, the new chapter in my life has really started.

During the first days of student life, I was really shocked. In the past, people often said "once admitted into university, you do not need to study too much, except the period of examination". However, it was not true at TDTU because both students and lecturers take their study and work seriously. Actually, we had to take an effort from the first weeks. There were five to six subjects on average per semester with from 2 to 3 assignments for each subject, so 9 to 10 assignments per week, and then projects work, etc. There were too many things to do in a short time. Thus, "Deadline" became common to us, weekly deadline even daily deadline. Nevertheless, at that time, good things started to appear.

Ladies and gentlemen!

In my field of study, there is an algorithm called hill climbing algorithm which states that if you are standing at a hilltop and you want to reach another higher hill, you have to go down, find new slope and ways and then continue climbing that new hill. At that time, I realized that I had found another way to reach the higher hilltop comparing to my dream hill in 2014.

During my learning process, I received kind and generous support from my lecturers and friends. With knowledge and experiences, the lecturers told us their story and real experiences in their student life, so that they gave us necessary support to help us overcome our own difficulties and obstacles.

Up to now, the most important thing we have had is not only a university degree but also professional knowledge, social knowledge and skills to be well ready to strike out on our own.

Now, thinking of it, I am always grateful for all I got from TDTU. The difficulties and challenges during learning process trained me and other students to become more mature. I would like to thank TDTU for creating a friendly educational environment with many ambitions and always devoted itself to learners as well as the educational development in Vietnam. I will miss TDTU so much, miss lecturers’ lectures, miss the green trees along the roadsides, the swing I often used to sit on with my friends, miss the image of security guards who always help students repair their broken bicycles; miss the cleaners who always work hard to keep the school clean and miss friends who have accompanied me during our last journey.

The student life was a colorful picture to me. It is the color of blue shirt during the green summer campaign, the yellow color of apricot in the spring campaign; and the bright red of voluntary blood donations. I will not forget all these memories and always remember them as my ambitions and my motivation for the next step on my way.

Dear New Masters, New Bachelors, Engineers,

After this ceremony, we will leave the beloved TDTU to take a new journey. In that journey, there will probably be a lot of difficulties and trials, but we are not afraid and we will face these challenges in the spirit of TDTU students. That is the spirit of no arrogance in victory, no despair in defeat and not giving up when facing difficulties.

For those who are still studying at this university, I would like to say that: "Study, work and play with all the enthusiasm of youth, cherish every moment so that when you look back, you will not regret anything because you know that you tried your best for that"

I would like to send my sincere thanks to all the lecturers who have devoted their hard work in every word to create the best opportunity for us to have access to the latest knowledge, teach us the best things so that we always turn to The True, the Good and the Beautiful.

In particular, I would like to express my gratitude and my sincere regards to the president, Prof. Le Vinh Danh for his devotion and non-stop service for TDTU over the past 20 years. Although I did not attend any of his class, I learned many valuable lessons through his intelligence and determination in the development of TDTU.

I also would like to thank my parents for the silent sacrifices, for always taking care of me. Parents are always my strong spiritual support which helps me confidently walk on my own way. The achievements I have achieved today and hope in the future will always go along with my parents’ support. I would like to dedicate these achievements to my parents as the gift of deepest gratitude.

On behalf of the new masters, bachelor, engineer, I promise that “We will continue to be more self-conscious and always make an effort to achieve all challenges ahead with the Can-Do spirit and always turn to the good things to be worthy TDTU alumni."

Finally, I would like to wish parents, new masters, new engineers and new bachelors good health and happiness. We wish all lecturers good health to continue to guide students to get many new achievements at TDTU.

Respectfully,
