Where I realize my dream

It’s certain that everyone once felt anxious about facing the future and asking what I should do, what my dreams are, what difficulties are on the way to fulfill these dreams, and who will be my companion on that challenging road. I have also had such thoughts and confusion on the path that I have chosen. Fortunately, I have found home where I can build my dreams and fulfill my ambitions step by step. It is also a place for me to practice, improve and give myself a try on everything; a place for new inspiration to build my confidence, share the difficulties and obstacles, and find support whenever it is necessary. This second home is Ton Duc Thang University.

Some of my friends have often asked me if I ever feel remorseful for my decision of choosing TDTU as the starting point of my grown-up life. After nearly two years of studying at Ton Duc Thang University, I always feel that it was the right choice, a meaningful destiny to conquer my dreams. Why not be satisfied when studying in a school considered as a university worth attention in Vietnam? It is well-equipped with modern facilities, and air-conditioned classrooms. Computers and sound systems are of best quality, creative buildings help me to fulfill my interests and learn some necessary skills about my life and career. Along with spacious campus which accommodates students’ needs, the university has built state-of-the-art library with creative and inspiring environment to fulfill the needs of learning, updating knowledge as well as broadening mindsets. The library has thousands of books to satisfy the needs of students.

Moreover, a wide range of functional rooms assists students in learning and taking part in leisure activities after stressful classes. We can use group learning rooms, computer system with headphones, movie-watching rooms, private classrooms, even a cafe and a small bookstore located in the Library to meet the needs and expectations of students. In addition, the University pays a lot of attention in students' physical health by building a sporting event hall and a 2-star stadium under FIFA standard, helping us to improve our physical strength by training all kinds of sports.

TDTU is not only well-known and loved by students as a University with the best facilities, but it is also noted for outstanding quality that parents and students deserve: from the second year, most students have the opportunity for internships in businesses, thereby understanding theory through practice; TDTU's curriculum is based on the curriculum being taught at the top 100 universities in the world; the percentage of students getting a job after graduation is close to 100%. What most students feel anxious about when choosing a career is whether after graduation they can find a job. More than 98% of TDTU’s graduates revealed to acquire a job last year not only take out the worries of students and parents but also demonstrate the dedicated and qualified training of lecturers and professors at TDTU.

Personally, what I care the most is how I am exposed to an unfamiliar university environment for four years. The first and foremost feeling that I experienced was anxiety mixed with a little bit of insecurity. The university is no longer confined to one area like the junior high schools and high schools. The university is an environment of all regions and all provinces. The teachers will no longer take care of me as in high school.

If it is difficult, how will I survive? That really scared me during the first few days of college. However, time has proved that my anxiety does not exist in this modern school. I have a small family in a place where lecturers are not the only ones who teach me knowledge, teach me specialized subjects, but they also teach me how to make myself better than ever. They also taught me how to live for others in volunteer work; taught me how to share difficulties in life; and when I was puzzled by the futility of building options, they gave me a sense of support. The only thing that I think teachers want is that we will become not only successful, but also well-educated - a person who not only knows himself but is also a responsible member of society.

What makes me proud of TDTU is not restricted to the above. With the quality of training, friendly environment and international standards, the University also has a variety of student exchange programs, programs affiliated with universities from many countries around the world to strengthen diplomacy with international universities, as well as to enhance foreign language communication for students, which is one of the common weaknesses of Vietnamese students.

If you think TDTU is just an academic University then you probably do not know that TDTU is also full of fun-playing competitions for students such as Sale Market, Color Road, or EDM parties with a lot of excitement, or even innovative fashion shows with collections from our faculties. I always believe and hope that TDTU will develop in the direction that the University has chosen: to become a research university, succeed in the career of educating people and create talents for the future of the country.
