Students and staff donated more than 2,000 units of blood to save patients

On 23rd and 24th of January 2018, 2,500 lecturers, staff and students of Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) participated in voluntary blood donation for the community. This is the second voluntary blood donation of the school year 2017-2018 launched by the Ho Chi Minh Youth Union of TDTU. With the enthusiastic response of staff, lecturers and students, it was expected that after two days, more than 2,000 units of blood will be donated. 450 units of blood was type O which is the rarest blood type that is very necessary in current emergency cases in hospitals.

Organized for the first time since 2010, Voluntary Blood Donation Day is a nonprofit activity for the purpose of spiritual education for the community, compassion for the youth of TDTU. It also encourages people to join hands to help poor patients and attaches the university to the social service activities in all aspects
